Getting to the Martinez Lake area is relatively easy. It’s the last 17 miles on unpaved road that present a challenge. While a high clearance 2-wheel drive could work, a 4-wheel drive is highly recommended. Most of the unpaved road to the mine is through a sand wash.
Regardless of your approach, please confirm your trip with the mine prior to travel. It is much safer for you if we know when to expect you at our place. Reaching out prior to your trip also ensures that we’ll be there when you arrive. There are times when the mine is closed for a day or two, even during the season.
